We've Had One Pinner Cap, Yes...
I recently added Elizabeth's meet accessories to my collection (currently being worn by my display-only Elizabeth). The set includes Elizabeth's pearl necklace, earrings, fan, and her pinner cap -- a small, rounded piece of cloth, trimmed with lace, and worn as a fashionable head covering. There's something about the look of a pinner cap that I really like! I think they kind of remind me of smaller '40's fascinator caps. They're just simple and elegant.
I have the pattern for Felicity's pinner cap from the Pleasant Company Felicity's Pretty Clothes set, so I thought I'd try to make a couple more caps for my dolls. I needed something to protect their hair when they're wearing the straw hat from Felicity's Summer Outfit, and I figured it couldn't hurt to have a third for when anyone wants to wear a 18th century dress (I do have an extra Elizabeth meet dress and I'm sure a pinner cap would look nice with Felicity's Traveling Gown, too).

The caps came together really quickly! Shoutout to my mom for helping me realize it was better to sew the lace to the top of one of the cap layers first and then sew the second layer on. I was trying to do everything all at once with a sh*t-ton of pins. 😅
The first one I made has a cornflower blue ribbon that goes well with Felicity's summer outfit's color scheme. I wanted the second one to be more universal, so it has a cream ribbon.

If you're familiar with pinner caps (or even just Felicity's and Elizabeth's), you know that they're usually made with more lace (wider, more gathered, often including two "tails" at the back of the cap). This lace is definitely more simple, but I really love the look of it. Someday I might make a third that does use a more traditional type of lace, but these work for now. They're my modern-ish take on a pinner cap.
