"Elizabeth Cole" Little Words Project Bracelet

Yesterday was my husband's and my 14th wedding anniversary. Before our cat's diagnosis, we'd planned to spend the weekend before our anniversary doing some chill, fun activities at home, like playing board games and trying new crafts. Then on our actual anniversary (a Tuesday), we planned to go somewhere fun that hopefully wouldn't be as crowded as it would've been on a weekend day. Since circumstances have changed, we decided to spend our actual anniversary at home with tasty food and some of the chill activities we'd already planned, like trying bracelet making. I had ordered two Little Words Project bracelet kits -- a "Galentine's" kit for me and the "Inner Gem" kit for my husband.
When it comes to new crafts, I'm usually the more patient learner. I don't mind if I need to watch a few videos or read a few blogs to get how something works. But since my husband is not quite as patient, I decided to try to teach myself first with a practice bracelet, and then show him how to make them.
I probably had AG's 40th anniversary on the brain, so I decided to make my first bracelet after my favorite American Girl character, Elizabeth Cole. After all, I'd already made a custom ornament of her; why not a bracelet, too?

Using another Little Words Project bracelet as an example, I set to work placing letters and a variety of beads in a line. My kit had a lot of pretty pink beads to choose from -- most of which were similar in color to parts of Elizabeth's meet dress. I also used several pearls throughout the design, to mimic her pearl meet necklace.
The whole process went pretty quickly, and stringing the beads together ended up being just the nice, relaxing break I needed. The hardest part was tying the elastic. In theory, you should be able to make a double knot and then push it into the large "Little Words Project" gold bead, but mine wasn't cooperating. I did add a third knot and some glue, so that could be partially why it no longer fit haha. I'm just really worried about it ever breaking a part and spilling everywhere! Luckily, the elastic knot is pretty hard to spot at a glance.
As much as I'd love an AG x Little Words Project collaboration, I know they'd never make an Elizabeth (or any other "best friend" character) bracelet, so it's nice to do it myself instead of wishing for it to happen. Someday, I hope to wear my bracelet to an American Girl store and show my support for one of the best "best friends" around!
